SF WEEKLY, April, 23 '03 By Dave Pehling
"Rare is the modern hard-rock album that hearkens basic to classic sounds without blatantly ripping off classic tunes. Even the bestg outfits flying the stoner-rock flag seem content to bash out by-the-numbers riffs nicked from Sabbath or the Nuge. Local quartet Dirty Power makes no bones about its influences on its self-titled Dead Teenager Records debut., the crafty, barvedwire hooks and inventive guitar interplay showcase a knack for songwriting that's glaringly absent from most retro-rock regurgitation...." "....Forget about the garage rock re-re-vival: Dirty Power single-handedly resurrect the arena-metal anthem is all its mulletheaded glory."

"...These fellows ripped through a set of hard rock debauchery reminiscent or early Black Sabbath. The lead vocalist definitely had a James Hetfield edge to his voice which really blended well with the chunky bass and mind-bending guitars. All glam and bullshit aside, these guys gave 100% raw, sweaty testosterone fueled Fuck and Roll!"

"This band plays some serious hard rock. Great riffs and lyrics, plus super catchy hooks. Definitely one of the best new bands the Bay Area has to offer. I would even venture to say this band is almost CLASSIC, and if you know me, that's pretty much the ultimate compliment any new band could get. These dudes are ripping on all levels, totally pro, and fully worth checking out live. Anthemic, really."

"A friend of mine lent me this CD a while ago, and I was sad when I had to give it back. Needless to say, I was thrilled to receive it again to review...which means it's mine to keep! This band kicks some serious ass, sounding like the bastard lovechild of Raging Slab and Motorhead. Thy've got the whole '70's riff-rock thing going on, but with a punk rock sensibility that keeps the energy high, just as it should be. The band co-produced this with Jack Endino, which should give you a clue as to the quality of the recording. Big sound, baby!...."
