Zeke, Flamethrower, Dirty Power, The Heart Attacks, At The Crocodile Café, Friday June 20.
"Barring liner notes that include application forms for NAMBLA or the Klan, it's simply impossible to dislike a CD that flaunts a track titled "Symptom of the Unitard." Dirty Power's dirty power is clearly derived from many an adolescent witching hour prostrating upon the altar of Black Sabbath. Axeman Partrick Goodwin contorts his rawk-gawd yelp from song to song, conjuring every classic balls-in-a-wad squealer from Plant to Hetfield to Rollins and, yes, even "Symptom of the Universe" - era Ozzy. Like tonight's beloved walking dead headliners, Dirty Power ladle out unhealthy portions of authentic gutter metal. Imbibe at your own risk."

Dirty Power at The Garage
Prepare yourself for a right battering from Bay Area hard rockers Dirty Power, stompin down the I-5 to rip apart The Garage. Thier brand of American Steel is heavy rock that makes no apologies for its love of alcohol=fueled anthems from both sides of the pond-- Alice Cooper to Kiss, Motorhead to Judas Priest. In keeping with the raw production style prior to all to 80's missteps, DP recorded thier upcoming debut with veteran producer Jack Endino the man who first brought us Mudhoney and Nirvana. These guys recently won Discmakers battle of the bands, but dont hold that against them: They play honest boogie with plenty of attitude but no pretense, as heard on songs like "Asthma Pimp","Lady Danzig" and "Symptom Of The Unitard" (SL Duff)

Dirty Power and Defenbombed, Thursday, September 18, at The Bug Jar,
"Dirty Power isn't really much more than punks raised on metal. But that ain't bad. Their looseness makes 'em punk, the tight, lead-fisted gut-punch they deliver makes 'em pure rock. The band menacingly plods and drones one minute before kicking it into higher straight-ahead rock 'n' roll gears the next. Pretty dirty, pretty powerful. Their recent self-titled CD is overflowing with classic thunder and hot, hammered riffs. And if it's too loud, you're not old enough."
